This has earned them their nickname, bowling pin duck. They are extremely skinny and have a cylindrical body. Their back is long and straight and their head is held high in the air, straight above their body. Runner Ducks stand up very straight and hold their body almost vertically. They can easily be identified by the very peculiar way they position their bodies. The Indian Runner Duck has a very unique appearance. A female can weigh around 3.0-4.5 lbs and stand about 24-28 inches tall.ĭucklings will cost around $10 each. Once fully grown a drake can weigh around 3.5-5.0 lbs and stand about 26-32 inches tall. The Indian Runner does not require a pond to swim in either, but, given the chance they won’t hesitate to show off their gracefulness in the water. Ducks are perfect at debugging gardens because they are much less destructive than chickens. This breed is also an excellent forager and will eat any sort of worms or grubs they find in the yard.
